The UK's Largest Survey Examining Household Plastic Consumption
Greenpeace’s The Big Plastic Count is the largest study into UK household plastic waste. In 2022, it revealed that almost 100 billion pieces of plastic are thrown away in the UK each year. In 2024, the team relaunched the project to help push forward the Global Plastics Treaty.
We both recruited people to take part in the count and then earned media attention after the data had landed. We collaborated with the Greenpeace UK team on media strategy and handled engagement with media throughout the project, including media handling at schools across the UK and managing broadcast opportunities.
We earned 460+ pieces of coverage–almost triple the amount of the first campaign–across print, online and broadcast media and pressured MPs to make bolder intentions at the Global Plastics Treaty to influence decision-making at the highest level.
This included a launch exclusive on Good Morning Britain, and coverage with the likes of Sky News, ITV, The Independent, BBC, The Daily Express and many more.
We earned the Greenpeace Plastics Treaty team the biggest media peak for the organisation during H1 of 2024.

"Kibbo Kift Agency are experts in communicating complex environmental and social justice topics in a clear and understandable way. They took the time to understand our project and devised creative ideas to communicate and reach new audiences, above and beyond the media. They came with excellent contacts within the media industry and were able to generate fantastic broadcast, radio and print coverage for our project. This enabled us to land our messaging with decision-makers at the right time and helped us achieve our campaign goals."
